What is Allergy Testing?
At the Westoe Practice, South Shields, we are able to test for any negative effects that many different substances including food types, pollens, additives, chemicals, perfumes and metals have on your body. Kinesiology is our prefered method.
Allergy is the term used to describe an adverse (bad) reaction that the body has to a particular substance. At the Westoe Practice, South Shields we recognise that Allergies, intolerances or sensitivities are very common and affect around one in four people in the UK at some time in their lives. The number of people affected by allergies rises every year. Allergic reactions can cause a range of symptoms. Some can be quite mild, and some are more serious.
Kinesiology Allergy Testing at the Westoe Practice, South Shields uses muscle testing as a quick and efficient way of identifying and improving your allergies, intolerances and sensitivities. Using testing kits it is possible to test for a wide range of substances that could be causing a negative effect on your body including foods, additives, pesticides, pollens, animal hair, household products and chemicals.
Unlike other allergy testing methods, at the Westoe Practice South Shields we are also able to use corrections to reduce the symptoms of allergies, intolerances and sensitivities.
A Typical Session
At the Westoe Practice, South Shields a typical session with our Kinesiologist will last approx 1.5hrs and a detailed case history will be taken to help us fully understand your concerns, identify the underlying problems and the corrections required.
One or two treatments are often sufficient to achieve lasting relief from many conditions, although further treatments may sometimes be required.
How can it help you?
Allergy testing does not claim to diagnose or cure. As of yet it is not scientifically proven to be evidence based and as a result current legislation prohibits us from listing symptoms and conditions that are known to respond well when we follow the well-established principle of naturopathic medicine: 'That the body be treated as a whole, without referral to named disease'. ·

Q: What happens in a Kinesiology Allergy testing session at the Westoe Practice, South Shields?
A: Allergy testing with Kinesiology is a relaxing and non-invasive experience. You lie fully clothed on the couch and the practitioner tests various muscle strengths by applying pressure. A small amount of the substance, in a tiny vial, is placed near or on your body, and your body's response is monitored through muscle-testing. Imbalances will switch the muscle off, creating a weakness.
