What is Physiotherapy?

At the Westoe Practice we believe in the hands on approach combined with exercises as part of a home exercise program for each individual. David Hopper is the Westoe Practice Physiotherapist and has extensive  experience with hands on physiotherapy and feels this is something which should be offered to all patients.

A typical session

Rehabilitation is a massive part of physiotherapy but we can also help prevent injuries and prehabilitation is becoming ever popular. If you choose to see David, our physiotherapist you will require an initial 30 minute consultation. The consultation will involve a discussion of your symptoms and personal goals followed by a physical assessment. During the examination, your physiotherapist will be assessing your posture, joint range of movement, muscle tone, length and strength and, depending on your symptoms, may check your reflexes and sensation. On completion of your assessment you will be given you a clear diagnosis, prognosis and an appropriate treatment plan will be discussed.

How can it help you?

Whether you are looking to overcome injuries, abolish pain, recover from surgery or attain optimal health, physiotherapy will move you closer to your potential and the highest possible level of function and performance you can attain.

Physiotherapy helps restore movement and function to as near normal as possible when someone is affected by injury, illness or by developmental or other disability.
